Who we are
Serving the community for more than a quarter century, Homeownership Center Northwest is a thriving community based 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Founded in 1993, our goal is to combat the growing issues facing our neighborhoods by investing in residents who live there; believing in the mantra “Community Ownership through Homeownership”. Our team renovates and restores many previously forgotten properties to bring them into the affordable housing market. Nearly 30 years later, our efforts and staff have diversified tremendously. Just as we believed from the beginning, we recognize the importance of investing in homeownership to foster community stability, facilitate individual success, and create opportunity for all citizens of this community to generate lasting wealth. With our eyes and minds on the modern housing crisis, our staff works every day to expand and maintain access to affordable housing at a time when the community needs it the most. We are the Homeownership Center.

A Focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
As a culturally competent nonprofit, Homeownership Center assists an evolving population with diverse demographics while recognizing and honoring cultural differences in an inclusive environment. We provide support to our clients in navigating the complicated, and often discriminatory world of purchasing their first home. HCNW is in the unique position of providing a bridge that advocates on clients’ behalf, satisfying current mortgage lending practices, while demonstrating responsible leverage of government and private funding. This private and public relationship helps maintain affordability for populations that have been traditionally underserved. Our goals is to ensure that all people are supported, protected, and provided tools to pursue their own aspirations, achieve a quality of life of their choosing, and can fully participate in their community without barriers to pursue their aspirations of achieving their homeownership dreams.
